Frozen Party--DIY Cupcake Stand

This cupcake stand was so easy and inexpensive to make!
I started with two sizes of cake plates from Walmart, a dollar store vase, and a Christmas ornament.

I measured and put a hole in the center of a large and smaller cake plate using a craft knife.
I glued it into the small cake plate.
When it dried, I placed that into the bigger cake plate with the hole. If the hole is small enough, not only does it stay in place, but it spins...like a lazy susan.
I took the top part off to finish the cupcake stand (or it would have fallen off...actually it did once, and I had to run back to Walmart last minute.
Opps!

So then I took the smaller size cake plate and glued the dollar store vase onto it.
Then glued the larger one with the hole on the other side.
Place the top back on and it's done.
I wanted the bottom one to be smaller than the tip for whimsy.
But when finished, decided I wanted it to be TALLER.
So I used another dollar store vase that I had at home...a bigger, thicker one, and added one more layer, this time using a large cake plate at the bottom.  I added snowflakes (also found in Christmas Wonderland Section at Walmart).

I could have glued them, but wanted them to dangle to reflect light...so using a small hole puncher and string, I hung them on the middle cake plate all the way around.
And added tinsle. Then it was done again.  Well, until I broke the top and had to get another one at the last minute.  Then it was done!  It was very sturdy and a perfect, inexpensive center piece for our wintery, Frozen party...
